How To Uninstall java-package On Debian 8

To uninstall java-package just follow these instructions.

Uninstall just java-package

Utility for creating Java Debian packagesDebian 8.0contrib/misc0.56
sudo apt-get remove java-package

This will remove just the java-package package itself.

Uninstall java-package and its dependencies

sudo apt-get remove --auto-remove java-package

This will remove the java-package package and any other dependant packages which are no longer needed.

Purging your config/data too

If you also want to delete your local/config files for java-package then this will work.

 Caution! Purged config/data can not be restored by reinstalling the package.
sudo apt-get purge java-package

Or similarly, like this java-package

sudo apt-get purge --auto-remove java-package
