How To Uninstall nvidia-xconfig On Debian 8

To uninstall nvidia-xconfig just follow these instructions.

Uninstall just nvidia-xconfig

X configuration tool for non-free NVIDIA driversDebian 8.0contrib/x11340.46-1
sudo apt-get remove nvidia-xconfig

This will remove just the nvidia-xconfig package itself.

Uninstall nvidia-xconfig and its dependencies

sudo apt-get remove --auto-remove nvidia-xconfig

This will remove the nvidia-xconfig package and any other dependant packages which are no longer needed.

Purging your config/data too

If you also want to delete your local/config files for nvidia-xconfig then this will work.

 Caution! Purged config/data can not be restored by reinstalling the package.
sudo apt-get purge nvidia-xconfig

Or similarly, like this nvidia-xconfig

sudo apt-get purge --auto-remove nvidia-xconfig
