How To Uninstall cabextract On Debian 8

To uninstall cabextract just follow these instructions.

Uninstall just cabextract

linuxMicrosoft Cabinet file unpackerutils1.4-5
sudo apt-get remove cabextract

This will remove just the cabextract package itself.

Uninstall cabextract and its dependencies

sudo apt-get remove --auto-remove cabextract

This will remove the cabextract package and any other dependant packages which are no longer needed.

Purging your config/data too

If you also want to delete your local/config files for cabextract then this will work.

 Caution! Purged config/data can not be restored by reinstalling the package.
sudo apt-get purge cabextract

Or similarly, like this cabextract

sudo apt-get purge --auto-remove cabextract
