How To Uninstall cedar-backup2 On Debian 8

To uninstall cedar-backup2 just follow these instructions.

Uninstall just cedar-backup2

linuxlocal and remote backups to CD or DVD mediaadmin2.24.1-1
sudo apt-get remove cedar-backup2

This will remove just the cedar-backup2 package itself.

Uninstall cedar-backup2 and its dependencies

sudo apt-get remove --auto-remove cedar-backup2

This will remove the cedar-backup2 package and any other dependant packages which are no longer needed.

Purging your config/data too

If you also want to delete your local/config files for cedar-backup2 then this will work.

 Caution! Purged config/data can not be restored by reinstalling the package.
sudo apt-get purge cedar-backup2

Or similarly, like this cedar-backup2

sudo apt-get purge --auto-remove cedar-backup2
