How To Uninstall cernlib On Debian 8

To uninstall cernlib just follow these instructions.

Uninstall just cernlib

linuxCERNLIB data analysis suite - general use metapackagescience20061220+dfsg3-4.1
sudo apt-get remove cernlib

This will remove just the cernlib package itself.

Uninstall cernlib and its dependencies

sudo apt-get remove --auto-remove cernlib

This will remove the cernlib package and any other dependant packages which are no longer needed.

Purging your config/data too

If you also want to delete your local/config files for cernlib then this will work.

 Caution! Purged config/data can not be restored by reinstalling the package.
sudo apt-get purge cernlib

Or similarly, like this cernlib

sudo apt-get purge --auto-remove cernlib
