How To Uninstall chef-zero On Debian 8

To uninstall chef-zero just follow these instructions.

Uninstall just chef-zero

in-memory Chef server (for testing and solo purposes)Debian 8.0ruby3.1.3-1
sudo apt-get remove chef-zero

This will remove just the chef-zero package itself.

Uninstall chef-zero and its dependencies

sudo apt-get remove --auto-remove chef-zero

This will remove the chef-zero package and any other dependant packages which are no longer needed.

Purging your config/data too

If you also want to delete your local/config files for chef-zero then this will work.

 Caution! Purged config/data can not be restored by reinstalling the package.
sudo apt-get purge chef-zero

Or similarly, like this chef-zero

sudo apt-get purge --auto-remove chef-zero
