How To Uninstall chkrootkit On Debian 8

To uninstall chkrootkit just follow these instructions.

Uninstall just chkrootkit

linuxrootkit detectormisc0.50-3
sudo apt-get remove chkrootkit

This will remove just the chkrootkit package itself.

Uninstall chkrootkit and its dependencies

sudo apt-get remove --auto-remove chkrootkit

This will remove the chkrootkit package and any other dependant packages which are no longer needed.

Purging your config/data too

If you also want to delete your local/config files for chkrootkit then this will work.

 Caution! Purged config/data can not be restored by reinstalling the package.
sudo apt-get purge chkrootkit

Or similarly, like this chkrootkit

sudo apt-get purge --auto-remove chkrootkit
