How To Uninstall cmus On Debian 8

To uninstall cmus just follow these instructions.

Uninstall just cmus

linuxlightweight ncurses audio playersound2.5.0-7+b1
sudo apt-get remove cmus

This will remove just the cmus package itself.

Uninstall cmus and its dependencies

sudo apt-get remove --auto-remove cmus

This will remove the cmus package and any other dependant packages which are no longer needed.

Purging your config/data too

If you also want to delete your local/config files for cmus then this will work.

 Caution! Purged config/data can not be restored by reinstalling the package.
sudo apt-get purge cmus

Or similarly, like this cmus

sudo apt-get purge --auto-remove cmus
