How To Uninstall libappstream-glib7 On Debian 8

To uninstall libappstream-glib7 just follow these instructions.

Uninstall just libappstream-glib7

Library to access AppStream servicesDebian 8.0libs0.3.0-1
sudo apt-get remove libappstream-glib7

This will remove just the libappstream-glib7 package itself.

Uninstall libappstream-glib7 and its dependencies

sudo apt-get remove --auto-remove libappstream-glib7

This will remove the libappstream-glib7 package and any other dependant packages which are no longer needed.

Purging your config/data too

If you also want to delete your local/config files for libappstream-glib7 then this will work.

 Caution! Purged config/data can not be restored by reinstalling the package.
sudo apt-get purge libappstream-glib7

Or similarly, like this libappstream-glib7

sudo apt-get purge --auto-remove libappstream-glib7
