How To Uninstall libappstream1 On Debian 8

To uninstall libappstream1 just follow these instructions.

Uninstall just libappstream1

Library to access AppStream servicesDebian 8.0libs0.7.3-1
sudo apt-get remove libappstream1

This will remove just the libappstream1 package itself.

Uninstall libappstream1 and its dependencies

sudo apt-get remove --auto-remove libappstream1

This will remove the libappstream1 package and any other dependant packages which are no longer needed.

Purging your config/data too

If you also want to delete your local/config files for libappstream1 then this will work.

 Caution! Purged config/data can not be restored by reinstalling the package.
sudo apt-get purge libappstream1

Or similarly, like this libappstream1

sudo apt-get purge --auto-remove libappstream1
