How To Uninstall libasan1 On Debian 8

To uninstall libasan1 just follow these instructions.

Uninstall just libasan1

AddressSanitizer -- a fast memory error detectorDebian 8.0libs4.9.2-10
sudo apt-get remove libasan1

This will remove just the libasan1 package itself.

Uninstall libasan1 and its dependencies

sudo apt-get remove --auto-remove libasan1

This will remove the libasan1 package and any other dependant packages which are no longer needed.

Purging your config/data too

If you also want to delete your local/config files for libasan1 then this will work.

 Caution! Purged config/data can not be restored by reinstalling the package.
sudo apt-get purge libasan1

Or similarly, like this libasan1

sudo apt-get purge --auto-remove libasan1
