How To Uninstall libatomic1 On Debian 8

To uninstall libatomic1 just follow these instructions.

Uninstall just libatomic1

support library providing __atomic built-in functionsDebian 8.0libs4.9.2-10
sudo apt-get remove libatomic1

This will remove just the libatomic1 package itself.

Uninstall libatomic1 and its dependencies

sudo apt-get remove --auto-remove libatomic1

This will remove the libatomic1 package and any other dependant packages which are no longer needed.

Purging your config/data too

If you also want to delete your local/config files for libatomic1 then this will work.

 Caution! Purged config/data can not be restored by reinstalling the package.
sudo apt-get purge libatomic1

Or similarly, like this libatomic1

sudo apt-get purge --auto-remove libatomic1
