How To Uninstall libattr1 On Debian 8

To uninstall libattr1 just follow these instructions.

Uninstall just libattr1

Extended attribute shared libraryDebian 8.0libs1:2.4.47-2
sudo apt-get remove libattr1

This will remove just the libattr1 package itself.

Uninstall libattr1 and its dependencies

sudo apt-get remove --auto-remove libattr1

This will remove the libattr1 package and any other dependant packages which are no longer needed.

Purging your config/data too

If you also want to delete your local/config files for libattr1 then this will work.

 Caution! Purged config/data can not be restored by reinstalling the package.
sudo apt-get purge libattr1

Or similarly, like this libattr1

sudo apt-get purge --auto-remove libattr1
