How To Uninstall libaudiofile1 On Debian 8

To uninstall libaudiofile1 just follow these instructions.

Uninstall just libaudiofile1

Open-source version of SGI's audiofile libraryDebian 8.0libs0.3.6-2+deb8u2
sudo apt-get remove libaudiofile1

This will remove just the libaudiofile1 package itself.

Uninstall libaudiofile1 and its dependencies

sudo apt-get remove --auto-remove libaudiofile1

This will remove the libaudiofile1 package and any other dependant packages which are no longer needed.

Purging your config/data too

If you also want to delete your local/config files for libaudiofile1 then this will work.

 Caution! Purged config/data can not be restored by reinstalling the package.
sudo apt-get purge libaudiofile1

Or similarly, like this libaudiofile1

sudo apt-get purge --auto-remove libaudiofile1
