How To Uninstall libbiojava-java On Debian 8

To uninstall libbiojava-java just follow these instructions.

Uninstall just libbiojava-java

Java API to biological data and applications (default version)Debian 8.0java1:1.7.1-5
sudo apt-get remove libbiojava-java

This will remove just the libbiojava-java package itself.

Uninstall libbiojava-java and its dependencies

sudo apt-get remove --auto-remove libbiojava-java

This will remove the libbiojava-java package and any other dependant packages which are no longer needed.

Purging your config/data too

If you also want to delete your local/config files for libbiojava-java then this will work.

 Caution! Purged config/data can not be restored by reinstalling the package.
sudo apt-get purge libbiojava-java

Or similarly, like this libbiojava-java

sudo apt-get purge --auto-remove libbiojava-java
