How To Uninstall libboost-atomic-dev On Debian 8

To uninstall libboost-atomic-dev just follow these instructions.

Uninstall just libboost-atomic-dev

atomic data types, operations, and memory ordering constraints (default version)Debian 8.0libdevel1.55.0.2
sudo apt-get remove libboost-atomic-dev

This will remove just the libboost-atomic-dev package itself.

Uninstall libboost-atomic-dev and its dependencies

sudo apt-get remove --auto-remove libboost-atomic-dev

This will remove the libboost-atomic-dev package and any other dependant packages which are no longer needed.

Purging your config/data too

If you also want to delete your local/config files for libboost-atomic-dev then this will work.

 Caution! Purged config/data can not be restored by reinstalling the package.
sudo apt-get purge libboost-atomic-dev

Or similarly, like this libboost-atomic-dev

sudo apt-get purge --auto-remove libboost-atomic-dev
