How To Uninstall libcairo2-dev On Debian 8

To uninstall libcairo2-dev just follow these instructions.

Uninstall just libcairo2-dev

Development files for the Cairo 2D graphics libraryDebian 8.0libdevel1.14.0-2.1+deb8u2
sudo apt-get remove libcairo2-dev

This will remove just the libcairo2-dev package itself.

Uninstall libcairo2-dev and its dependencies

sudo apt-get remove --auto-remove libcairo2-dev

This will remove the libcairo2-dev package and any other dependant packages which are no longer needed.

Purging your config/data too

If you also want to delete your local/config files for libcairo2-dev then this will work.

 Caution! Purged config/data can not be restored by reinstalling the package.
sudo apt-get purge libcairo2-dev

Or similarly, like this libcairo2-dev

sudo apt-get purge --auto-remove libcairo2-dev
