How To Uninstall libcfitsio2-dbg On Debian 8

To uninstall libcfitsio2-dbg just follow these instructions.

Uninstall just libcfitsio2-dbg

library for I/O with FITS format data files (debugging symbols)Debian 8.0debug3.370-2
sudo apt-get remove libcfitsio2-dbg

This will remove just the libcfitsio2-dbg package itself.

Uninstall libcfitsio2-dbg and its dependencies

sudo apt-get remove --auto-remove libcfitsio2-dbg

This will remove the libcfitsio2-dbg package and any other dependant packages which are no longer needed.

Purging your config/data too

If you also want to delete your local/config files for libcfitsio2-dbg then this will work.

 Caution! Purged config/data can not be restored by reinstalling the package.
sudo apt-get purge libcfitsio2-dbg

Or similarly, like this libcfitsio2-dbg

sudo apt-get purge --auto-remove libcfitsio2-dbg
