How To Uninstall libcharls1 On Debian 8

To uninstall libcharls1 just follow these instructions.

Uninstall just libcharls1

Implementation of the JPEG-LS standardDebian 8.0libs1.0-5
sudo apt-get remove libcharls1

This will remove just the libcharls1 package itself.

Uninstall libcharls1 and its dependencies

sudo apt-get remove --auto-remove libcharls1

This will remove the libcharls1 package and any other dependant packages which are no longer needed.

Purging your config/data too

If you also want to delete your local/config files for libcharls1 then this will work.

 Caution! Purged config/data can not be restored by reinstalling the package.
sudo apt-get purge libcharls1

Or similarly, like this libcharls1

sudo apt-get purge --auto-remove libcharls1
