How To Uninstall libcollectdclient1 On Debian 8

To uninstall libcollectdclient1 just follow these instructions.

Uninstall just libcollectdclient1

client library for collectd's control interfaceDebian 8.0libs5.4.1-6+deb8u1
sudo apt-get remove libcollectdclient1

This will remove just the libcollectdclient1 package itself.

Uninstall libcollectdclient1 and its dependencies

sudo apt-get remove --auto-remove libcollectdclient1

This will remove the libcollectdclient1 package and any other dependant packages which are no longer needed.

Purging your config/data too

If you also want to delete your local/config files for libcollectdclient1 then this will work.

 Caution! Purged config/data can not be restored by reinstalling the package.
sudo apt-get purge libcollectdclient1

Or similarly, like this libcollectdclient1

sudo apt-get purge --auto-remove libcollectdclient1
