How To Uninstall libcryptsetup-dev On Debian 8

To uninstall libcryptsetup-dev just follow these instructions.

Uninstall just libcryptsetup-dev

disk encryption support - development filesDebian 8.0libdevel2:1.6.6-5
sudo apt-get remove libcryptsetup-dev

This will remove just the libcryptsetup-dev package itself.

Uninstall libcryptsetup-dev and its dependencies

sudo apt-get remove --auto-remove libcryptsetup-dev

This will remove the libcryptsetup-dev package and any other dependant packages which are no longer needed.

Purging your config/data too

If you also want to delete your local/config files for libcryptsetup-dev then this will work.

 Caution! Purged config/data can not be restored by reinstalling the package.
sudo apt-get purge libcryptsetup-dev

Or similarly, like this libcryptsetup-dev

sudo apt-get purge --auto-remove libcryptsetup-dev
