How To Uninstall libdb++-dev On Debian 8

To uninstall libdb++-dev just follow these instructions.

Uninstall just libdb++-dev

Berkeley Database Libraries for C++ [development]Debian 8.0libdevel5.3.0+b1
sudo apt-get remove libdb++-dev

This will remove just the libdb++-dev package itself.

Uninstall libdb++-dev and its dependencies

sudo apt-get remove --auto-remove libdb++-dev

This will remove the libdb++-dev package and any other dependant packages which are no longer needed.

Purging your config/data too

If you also want to delete your local/config files for libdb++-dev then this will work.

 Caution! Purged config/data can not be restored by reinstalling the package.
sudo apt-get purge libdb++-dev

Or similarly, like this libdb++-dev

sudo apt-get purge --auto-remove libdb++-dev
