How To Uninstall libdb1-compat On Debian 8

To uninstall libdb1-compat just follow these instructions.

Uninstall just libdb1-compat

Berkeley database routines [glibc 2.0/2.1 compatibility]Debian 8.0oldlibs2.1.3-17
sudo apt-get remove libdb1-compat

This will remove just the libdb1-compat package itself.

Uninstall libdb1-compat and its dependencies

sudo apt-get remove --auto-remove libdb1-compat

This will remove the libdb1-compat package and any other dependant packages which are no longer needed.

Purging your config/data too

If you also want to delete your local/config files for libdb1-compat then this will work.

 Caution! Purged config/data can not be restored by reinstalling the package.
sudo apt-get purge libdb1-compat

Or similarly, like this libdb1-compat

sudo apt-get purge --auto-remove libdb1-compat
