How To Uninstall libdcmtk2-dbg On Debian 8

To uninstall libdcmtk2-dbg just follow these instructions.

Uninstall just libdcmtk2-dbg

OFFIS DICOM toolkit library debugging symbolsDebian 8.0debug3.6.0-15+deb8u1
sudo apt-get remove libdcmtk2-dbg

This will remove just the libdcmtk2-dbg package itself.

Uninstall libdcmtk2-dbg and its dependencies

sudo apt-get remove --auto-remove libdcmtk2-dbg

This will remove the libdcmtk2-dbg package and any other dependant packages which are no longer needed.

Purging your config/data too

If you also want to delete your local/config files for libdcmtk2-dbg then this will work.

 Caution! Purged config/data can not be restored by reinstalling the package.
sudo apt-get purge libdcmtk2-dbg

Or similarly, like this libdcmtk2-dbg

sudo apt-get purge --auto-remove libdcmtk2-dbg
