How To Uninstall libdcmtk2-dev On Debian 8

To uninstall libdcmtk2-dev just follow these instructions.

Uninstall just libdcmtk2-dev

OFFIS DICOM toolkit development libraries and headersDebian 8.0libdevel3.6.0-15+deb8u1
sudo apt-get remove libdcmtk2-dev

This will remove just the libdcmtk2-dev package itself.

Uninstall libdcmtk2-dev and its dependencies

sudo apt-get remove --auto-remove libdcmtk2-dev

This will remove the libdcmtk2-dev package and any other dependant packages which are no longer needed.

Purging your config/data too

If you also want to delete your local/config files for libdcmtk2-dev then this will work.

 Caution! Purged config/data can not be restored by reinstalling the package.
sudo apt-get purge libdcmtk2-dev

Or similarly, like this libdcmtk2-dev

sudo apt-get purge --auto-remove libdcmtk2-dev
