How To Uninstall libdevil-dev On Debian 8

To uninstall libdevil-dev just follow these instructions.

Uninstall just libdevil-dev

Cross-platform image loading and manipulation toolkitDebian 8.0libdevel1.7.8-9+b1
sudo apt-get remove libdevil-dev

This will remove just the libdevil-dev package itself.

Uninstall libdevil-dev and its dependencies

sudo apt-get remove --auto-remove libdevil-dev

This will remove the libdevil-dev package and any other dependant packages which are no longer needed.

Purging your config/data too

If you also want to delete your local/config files for libdevil-dev then this will work.

 Caution! Purged config/data can not be restored by reinstalling the package.
sudo apt-get purge libdevil-dev

Or similarly, like this libdevil-dev

sudo apt-get purge --auto-remove libdevil-dev
