How To Uninstall libdmalloc5 On Debian 8

To uninstall libdmalloc5 just follow these instructions.

Uninstall just libdmalloc5

debug memory allocation libraryDebian 8.0libs5.5.2-6
sudo apt-get remove libdmalloc5

This will remove just the libdmalloc5 package itself.

Uninstall libdmalloc5 and its dependencies

sudo apt-get remove --auto-remove libdmalloc5

This will remove the libdmalloc5 package and any other dependant packages which are no longer needed.

Purging your config/data too

If you also want to delete your local/config files for libdmalloc5 then this will work.

 Caution! Purged config/data can not be restored by reinstalling the package.
sudo apt-get purge libdmalloc5

Or similarly, like this libdmalloc5

sudo apt-get purge --auto-remove libdmalloc5
