How To Uninstall libdpkg-perl On Debian 8

To uninstall libdpkg-perl just follow these instructions.

Uninstall just libdpkg-perl

Dpkg perl modulesDebian 8.0perl1.17.27
sudo apt-get remove libdpkg-perl

This will remove just the libdpkg-perl package itself.

Uninstall libdpkg-perl and its dependencies

sudo apt-get remove --auto-remove libdpkg-perl

This will remove the libdpkg-perl package and any other dependant packages which are no longer needed.

Purging your config/data too

If you also want to delete your local/config files for libdpkg-perl then this will work.

 Caution! Purged config/data can not be restored by reinstalling the package.
sudo apt-get purge libdpkg-perl

Or similarly, like this libdpkg-perl

sudo apt-get purge --auto-remove libdpkg-perl
