How To Uninstall libecj-java-gcj On Debian 8

To uninstall libecj-java-gcj just follow these instructions.

Uninstall just libecj-java-gcj

Eclipse Java compiler (native library)Debian 8.0java3.10.1-1
sudo apt-get remove libecj-java-gcj

This will remove just the libecj-java-gcj package itself.

Uninstall libecj-java-gcj and its dependencies

sudo apt-get remove --auto-remove libecj-java-gcj

This will remove the libecj-java-gcj package and any other dependant packages which are no longer needed.

Purging your config/data too

If you also want to delete your local/config files for libecj-java-gcj then this will work.

 Caution! Purged config/data can not be restored by reinstalling the package.
sudo apt-get purge libecj-java-gcj

Or similarly, like this libecj-java-gcj

sudo apt-get purge --auto-remove libecj-java-gcj
