How To Uninstall libecm-dev On Debian 8

To uninstall libecm-dev just follow these instructions.

Uninstall just libecm-dev

Factor integers using the Elliptic Curve Method (library)Debian 8.0libdevel6.4.4-2
sudo apt-get remove libecm-dev

This will remove just the libecm-dev package itself.

Uninstall libecm-dev and its dependencies

sudo apt-get remove --auto-remove libecm-dev

This will remove the libecm-dev package and any other dependant packages which are no longer needed.

Purging your config/data too

If you also want to delete your local/config files for libecm-dev then this will work.

 Caution! Purged config/data can not be restored by reinstalling the package.
sudo apt-get purge libecm-dev

Or similarly, like this libecm-dev

sudo apt-get purge --auto-remove libecm-dev
