How To Uninstall libecryptfs-dev On Debian 8

To uninstall libecryptfs-dev just follow these instructions.

Uninstall just libecryptfs-dev

ecryptfs cryptographic filesystem (development)Debian 8.0libdevel103-5+deb8u1
sudo apt-get remove libecryptfs-dev

This will remove just the libecryptfs-dev package itself.

Uninstall libecryptfs-dev and its dependencies

sudo apt-get remove --auto-remove libecryptfs-dev

This will remove the libecryptfs-dev package and any other dependant packages which are no longer needed.

Purging your config/data too

If you also want to delete your local/config files for libecryptfs-dev then this will work.

 Caution! Purged config/data can not be restored by reinstalling the package.
sudo apt-get purge libecryptfs-dev

Or similarly, like this libecryptfs-dev

sudo apt-get purge --auto-remove libecryptfs-dev
