How To Uninstall libedac1-dbg On Debian 8

To uninstall libedac1-dbg just follow these instructions.

Uninstall just libedac1-dbg

report kernel-detected PCI and ECC RAM errorsDebian 8.0debug0.18-1
sudo apt-get remove libedac1-dbg

This will remove just the libedac1-dbg package itself.

Uninstall libedac1-dbg and its dependencies

sudo apt-get remove --auto-remove libedac1-dbg

This will remove the libedac1-dbg package and any other dependant packages which are no longer needed.

Purging your config/data too

If you also want to delete your local/config files for libedac1-dbg then this will work.

 Caution! Purged config/data can not be restored by reinstalling the package.
sudo apt-get purge libedac1-dbg

Or similarly, like this libedac1-dbg

sudo apt-get purge --auto-remove libedac1-dbg
