How To Uninstall libedac1 On Debian 8

To uninstall libedac1 just follow these instructions.

Uninstall just libedac1

report kernel-detected PCI and ECC RAM errorsDebian 8.0libs0.18-1
sudo apt-get remove libedac1

This will remove just the libedac1 package itself.

Uninstall libedac1 and its dependencies

sudo apt-get remove --auto-remove libedac1

This will remove the libedac1 package and any other dependant packages which are no longer needed.

Purging your config/data too

If you also want to delete your local/config files for libedac1 then this will work.

 Caution! Purged config/data can not be restored by reinstalling the package.
sudo apt-get purge libedac1

Or similarly, like this libedac1

sudo apt-get purge --auto-remove libedac1
