How To Uninstall libfaad2 On Debian 8

To uninstall libfaad2 just follow these instructions.

Uninstall just libfaad2

freeware Advanced Audio Decoder - runtime filesDebian 8.0libs2.7-8
sudo apt-get remove libfaad2

This will remove just the libfaad2 package itself.

Uninstall libfaad2 and its dependencies

sudo apt-get remove --auto-remove libfaad2

This will remove the libfaad2 package and any other dependant packages which are no longer needed.

Purging your config/data too

If you also want to delete your local/config files for libfaad2 then this will work.

 Caution! Purged config/data can not be restored by reinstalling the package.
sudo apt-get purge libfaad2

Or similarly, like this libfaad2

sudo apt-get purge --auto-remove libfaad2
