How To Uninstall libfiredns0.9 On Debian 8

To uninstall libfiredns0.9 just follow these instructions.

Uninstall just libfiredns0.9

Runtime libraries for firedns, an asynch. dns resolver libraryDebian 8.0libs0.9.12+dfsg-3
sudo apt-get remove libfiredns0.9

This will remove just the libfiredns0.9 package itself.

Uninstall libfiredns0.9 and its dependencies

sudo apt-get remove --auto-remove libfiredns0.9

This will remove the libfiredns0.9 package and any other dependant packages which are no longer needed.

Purging your config/data too

If you also want to delete your local/config files for libfiredns0.9 then this will work.

 Caution! Purged config/data can not be restored by reinstalling the package.
sudo apt-get purge libfiredns0.9

Or similarly, like this libfiredns0.9

sudo apt-get purge --auto-remove libfiredns0.9
