How To Uninstall libgail-dbg On Debian 8

To uninstall libgail-dbg just follow these instructions.

Uninstall just libgail-dbg

Gail libraries and debugging symbolsDebian 8.0debug2.24.25-3+deb8u1
sudo apt-get remove libgail-dbg

This will remove just the libgail-dbg package itself.

Uninstall libgail-dbg and its dependencies

sudo apt-get remove --auto-remove libgail-dbg

This will remove the libgail-dbg package and any other dependant packages which are no longer needed.

Purging your config/data too

If you also want to delete your local/config files for libgail-dbg then this will work.

 Caution! Purged config/data can not be restored by reinstalling the package.
sudo apt-get purge libgail-dbg

Or similarly, like this libgail-dbg

sudo apt-get purge --auto-remove libgail-dbg
