How To Uninstall libgcj14 On Debian 8

To uninstall libgcj14 just follow these instructions.

Uninstall just libgcj14

Java runtime library for use with gcjDebian 8.0libs4.8.4-1
sudo apt-get remove libgcj14

This will remove just the libgcj14 package itself.

Uninstall libgcj14 and its dependencies

sudo apt-get remove --auto-remove libgcj14

This will remove the libgcj14 package and any other dependant packages which are no longer needed.

Purging your config/data too

If you also want to delete your local/config files for libgcj14 then this will work.

 Caution! Purged config/data can not be restored by reinstalling the package.
sudo apt-get purge libgcj14

Or similarly, like this libgcj14

sudo apt-get purge --auto-remove libgcj14
