How To Uninstall libgdal-java On Debian 8

To uninstall libgdal-java just follow these instructions.

Uninstall just libgdal-java

Java bindings to the Geospatial Data Abstraction LibraryDebian 8.0java1.10.1+dfsg-8+b3
sudo apt-get remove libgdal-java

This will remove just the libgdal-java package itself.

Uninstall libgdal-java and its dependencies

sudo apt-get remove --auto-remove libgdal-java

This will remove the libgdal-java package and any other dependant packages which are no longer needed.

Purging your config/data too

If you also want to delete your local/config files for libgdal-java then this will work.

 Caution! Purged config/data can not be restored by reinstalling the package.
sudo apt-get purge libgdal-java

Or similarly, like this libgdal-java

sudo apt-get purge --auto-remove libgdal-java
