How To Uninstall libgdbm-dev On Debian 8

To uninstall libgdbm-dev just follow these instructions.

Uninstall just libgdbm-dev

GNU dbm database routines (development files)Debian 8.0libdevel1.8.3-13.1
sudo apt-get remove libgdbm-dev

This will remove just the libgdbm-dev package itself.

Uninstall libgdbm-dev and its dependencies

sudo apt-get remove --auto-remove libgdbm-dev

This will remove the libgdbm-dev package and any other dependant packages which are no longer needed.

Purging your config/data too

If you also want to delete your local/config files for libgdbm-dev then this will work.

 Caution! Purged config/data can not be restored by reinstalling the package.
sudo apt-get purge libgdbm-dev

Or similarly, like this libgdbm-dev

sudo apt-get purge --auto-remove libgdbm-dev
