How To Uninstall libgdbm3 On Debian 8

To uninstall libgdbm3 just follow these instructions.

Uninstall just libgdbm3

GNU dbm database routines (runtime version)Debian 8.0libs1.8.3-13.1
sudo apt-get remove libgdbm3

This will remove just the libgdbm3 package itself.

Uninstall libgdbm3 and its dependencies

sudo apt-get remove --auto-remove libgdbm3

This will remove the libgdbm3 package and any other dependant packages which are no longer needed.

Purging your config/data too

If you also want to delete your local/config files for libgdbm3 then this will work.

 Caution! Purged config/data can not be restored by reinstalling the package.
sudo apt-get purge libgdbm3

Or similarly, like this libgdbm3

sudo apt-get purge --auto-remove libgdbm3
