How To Uninstall libgdm1 On Debian 8

To uninstall libgdm1 just follow these instructions.

Uninstall just libgdm1

GNOME Display Manager (shared library)Debian 8.0libs3.14.1-7
sudo apt-get remove libgdm1

This will remove just the libgdm1 package itself.

Uninstall libgdm1 and its dependencies

sudo apt-get remove --auto-remove libgdm1

This will remove the libgdm1 package and any other dependant packages which are no longer needed.

Purging your config/data too

If you also want to delete your local/config files for libgdm1 then this will work.

 Caution! Purged config/data can not be restored by reinstalling the package.
sudo apt-get purge libgdm1

Or similarly, like this libgdm1

sudo apt-get purge --auto-remove libgdm1
