How To Uninstall libgeoip-dev On Debian 8

To uninstall libgeoip-dev just follow these instructions.

Uninstall just libgeoip-dev

Development files for the GeoIP libraryDebian 8.0libdevel1.6.2-4
sudo apt-get remove libgeoip-dev

This will remove just the libgeoip-dev package itself.

Uninstall libgeoip-dev and its dependencies

sudo apt-get remove --auto-remove libgeoip-dev

This will remove the libgeoip-dev package and any other dependant packages which are no longer needed.

Purging your config/data too

If you also want to delete your local/config files for libgeoip-dev then this will work.

 Caution! Purged config/data can not be restored by reinstalling the package.
sudo apt-get purge libgeoip-dev

Or similarly, like this libgeoip-dev

sudo apt-get purge --auto-remove libgeoip-dev
