How To Uninstall libgirepository-1.0-1 On Debian 8

To uninstall libgirepository-1.0-1 just follow these instructions.

Uninstall just libgirepository-1.0-1

Library for handling GObject introspection data (runtime library)Debian 8.0libs1.42.0-2.2
sudo apt-get remove libgirepository-1.0-1

This will remove just the libgirepository-1.0-1 package itself.

Uninstall libgirepository-1.0-1 and its dependencies

sudo apt-get remove --auto-remove libgirepository-1.0-1

This will remove the libgirepository-1.0-1 package and any other dependant packages which are no longer needed.

Purging your config/data too

If you also want to delete your local/config files for libgirepository-1.0-1 then this will work.

 Caution! Purged config/data can not be restored by reinstalling the package.
sudo apt-get purge libgirepository-1.0-1

Or similarly, like this libgirepository-1.0-1

sudo apt-get purge --auto-remove libgirepository-1.0-1
