How To Uninstall libgmerlin-avdec1 On Debian 8

To uninstall libgmerlin-avdec1 just follow these instructions.

Uninstall just libgmerlin-avdec1

general multimedia decoding libraryDebian 8.0libs1.2.0~dfsg-5+b3
sudo apt-get remove libgmerlin-avdec1

This will remove just the libgmerlin-avdec1 package itself.

Uninstall libgmerlin-avdec1 and its dependencies

sudo apt-get remove --auto-remove libgmerlin-avdec1

This will remove the libgmerlin-avdec1 package and any other dependant packages which are no longer needed.

Purging your config/data too

If you also want to delete your local/config files for libgmerlin-avdec1 then this will work.

 Caution! Purged config/data can not be restored by reinstalling the package.
sudo apt-get purge libgmerlin-avdec1

Or similarly, like this libgmerlin-avdec1

sudo apt-get purge --auto-remove libgmerlin-avdec1
