How To Uninstall libgmsh2 On Debian 8

To uninstall libgmsh2 just follow these instructions.

Uninstall just libgmsh2

Three-dimensional finite element mesh generator. Shared libraryDebian 8.0libs2.8.5+dfsg-1.1+b1
sudo apt-get remove libgmsh2

This will remove just the libgmsh2 package itself.

Uninstall libgmsh2 and its dependencies

sudo apt-get remove --auto-remove libgmsh2

This will remove the libgmsh2 package and any other dependant packages which are no longer needed.

Purging your config/data too

If you also want to delete your local/config files for libgmsh2 then this will work.

 Caution! Purged config/data can not be restored by reinstalling the package.
sudo apt-get purge libgmsh2

Or similarly, like this libgmsh2

sudo apt-get purge --auto-remove libgmsh2
