How To Uninstall libgomp1 On Debian 8

To uninstall libgomp1 just follow these instructions.

Uninstall just libgomp1

GCC OpenMP (GOMP) support libraryDebian 8.0libs4.9.2-10
sudo apt-get remove libgomp1

This will remove just the libgomp1 package itself.

Uninstall libgomp1 and its dependencies

sudo apt-get remove --auto-remove libgomp1

This will remove the libgomp1 package and any other dependant packages which are no longer needed.

Purging your config/data too

If you also want to delete your local/config files for libgomp1 then this will work.

 Caution! Purged config/data can not be restored by reinstalling the package.
sudo apt-get purge libgomp1

Or similarly, like this libgomp1

sudo apt-get purge --auto-remove libgomp1
