How To Uninstall libgpm2 On Debian 8

To uninstall libgpm2 just follow these instructions.

Uninstall just libgpm2

General Purpose Mouse - shared libraryDebian 8.0libs1.20.4-6.1+b2
sudo apt-get remove libgpm2

This will remove just the libgpm2 package itself.

Uninstall libgpm2 and its dependencies

sudo apt-get remove --auto-remove libgpm2

This will remove the libgpm2 package and any other dependant packages which are no longer needed.

Purging your config/data too

If you also want to delete your local/config files for libgpm2 then this will work.

 Caution! Purged config/data can not be restored by reinstalling the package.
sudo apt-get purge libgpm2

Or similarly, like this libgpm2

sudo apt-get purge --auto-remove libgpm2
