How To Uninstall libipmidetect-dev On Debian 8

To uninstall libipmidetect-dev just follow these instructions.

Uninstall just libipmidetect-dev

GNU IPMI - ipmidetect development packageDebian 8.0libdevel1.4.5-3
sudo apt-get remove libipmidetect-dev

This will remove just the libipmidetect-dev package itself.

Uninstall libipmidetect-dev and its dependencies

sudo apt-get remove --auto-remove libipmidetect-dev

This will remove the libipmidetect-dev package and any other dependant packages which are no longer needed.

Purging your config/data too

If you also want to delete your local/config files for libipmidetect-dev then this will work.

 Caution! Purged config/data can not be restored by reinstalling the package.
sudo apt-get purge libipmidetect-dev

Or similarly, like this libipmidetect-dev

sudo apt-get purge --auto-remove libipmidetect-dev
