How To Uninstall libmathlib2-dev On Debian 8

To uninstall libmathlib2-dev just follow these instructions.

Uninstall just libmathlib2-dev

CERNLIB data analysis suite - core mathematical library (development files)Debian 8.0libdevel20061220+dfsg3-4.1
sudo apt-get remove libmathlib2-dev

This will remove just the libmathlib2-dev package itself.

Uninstall libmathlib2-dev and its dependencies

sudo apt-get remove --auto-remove libmathlib2-dev

This will remove the libmathlib2-dev package and any other dependant packages which are no longer needed.

Purging your config/data too

If you also want to delete your local/config files for libmathlib2-dev then this will work.

 Caution! Purged config/data can not be restored by reinstalling the package.
sudo apt-get purge libmathlib2-dev

Or similarly, like this libmathlib2-dev

sudo apt-get purge --auto-remove libmathlib2-dev
