How To Uninstall libsdl1.2-dev On Debian 8

To uninstall libsdl1.2-dev just follow these instructions.

Uninstall just libsdl1.2-dev

Simple DirectMedia Layer development filesDebian 8.0libdevel1.2.15-10+b1
sudo apt-get remove libsdl1.2-dev

This will remove just the libsdl1.2-dev package itself.

Uninstall libsdl1.2-dev and its dependencies

sudo apt-get remove --auto-remove libsdl1.2-dev

This will remove the libsdl1.2-dev package and any other dependant packages which are no longer needed.

Purging your config/data too

If you also want to delete your local/config files for libsdl1.2-dev then this will work.

 Caution! Purged config/data can not be restored by reinstalling the package.
sudo apt-get purge libsdl1.2-dev

Or similarly, like this libsdl1.2-dev

sudo apt-get purge --auto-remove libsdl1.2-dev
